Howdy gents
Anyone out there have a short list of 225 Gr. and larger bullets (hunting specific) that will feed well in the Rem model 7 action? Ie, will a 250 Gr Nosler Partition work?
Thanks
Paul

250 Parts should work at 2.800 to 2.820 COAL. Stan Skinner reported getting 2552MV max with a M673 which is essentially a M7 but with a 22" barrel. He used WW748 - http://www.gunsandammo.com/content/the-350-remington-magnum

I use 250Speers at around 2500MV from my Remington M600 and M660. But IMO the 225 Part (which I use too) might be the best bullet for overall use in the 350RM for big game - considering the mag length limitations of your M7 - that is unless short range big bears or bison are anticipated. Then the 250 Part would come into its own I think if loaded up to 2450MV or better.

Here's some of what I've tried in my Rems with similar mag contraints (20" and 18 1/2");

Mine works best with the 250 gr Speer. I have also tried the 225 NP, but it isn't as accurate in my rifle. - dan
What rifle are you shooting?
I looked at the Speer site, and the only 250 Gr. they list is the Grand Slam, i assume thats the 250 you are using?
I see you can load the Hornady 250 gr RN for the model 7, but will the 250 gr spitzer still make the COL?
Thanks again for all the help gents

My 350 Rem Mag in Remington 700 Classic, 22" barrel, shot great with this load in virgin brass. Chamber was so oversize, or brass so undersized, that it was unsafe to load FL sized brass as cases stretched so much. Head separation after 2 firings. Turned me off belted cases. I believe this load shot well in the Rem 600, 18 1/2" barrel as well.

Nozler Partition, 225 gr., Length to Lands 3.015", COL 2.8", Rem New Case, Win 748 60.0 gr., Fed 215 primer, Velocity 2700 fps, Group 1.00 MOA.

Most use the Speer 250 "Hot Core" bullet. I like it too and use it in my M660 at 2.800 COAL and also the 250HornadyRN at 2.800 COAL. So assuming your throat is long enough (check that with a dummy round) no problems should arise in your M7 I think. A hunting buddy used the grand slam 250gr in his M673 with good accuracy and velocity. He liked it but I've not tried it myself. ReL 15 is my "go to" powder.

Sorry, I was out to lunch there, I thought Grand Slams were available in .358, as you said, its the 250Gr. Hot Core.
Really enjoyed your site on the 35 cal round.:cool: Gleaned lots of good info that will serve me well.

The Grand Slam was available in .358 but is now discontinued. I bought a box a couple years ago.
