$350ish to spend on a high velocity air rifle

And the odds are that you Will need parts. But I have heard that Crosman's customer service is very good. On the other hand, the only part I've needed for a GErman-made rifle after several years is the Vortek aftermarket spring. These rifles will be handed to grandkids ;)

The D34 is quiet enough that, 100 squirrels and counting later, I've had a number of occasions where they've given me a second shot.

And I stand corrected. My brother has a gift for tweeking/tuning Airguns. He picked up a like new Jim Shockey .22 cal nitro model for cheap just to get the scope off it. Stock screws were loose. A few minor tweaks and it was doing 700 fps and 1/2" groups at 22 yards. He performed a mod involving milling a slot on the tube. Yesterday I watched him shoot a 5-shot cloverleaf with Ultramags at 22 yards, and now doing 740 fps. Worth the $100. In my opinion. Looks like parts from Gravel are cheap....
