357/ 38 special handgun

Ruger GP100 4.2" barrel, have had one on order for well over a year now, and its still worth the wait. If you want high end, import a Colt Python in .357 with a 6" barrel, nothing is nicer in my opinion :)

HI all. I am new to pistols and recently acquired a Taurus Model 66 in .357. Pleasantly surprised at the quality for a low priced revolver. Not ready to put the money into the higher end yet. Enjoy your choice.

S&W 686, or Ruger GP100 with shims and Wolff spring kit...or Ruger SP-101 with shims, Wolff spring kit, and Hogue grips.

;) :D the only thing wrong with S&W 686, is not having a second,, one for each hand!R:d: and dont forget the back up, twin Ruger SP101,, your good to go!

now for some real excitement try 38/357 coonan 1911....wow :HFU:

Single Action Ubert Pietta and Ruger come at a good price, Double Action Ruger S&W can't go wrong with them. It comes down to caliber and what you want to spend. I don't own a Taurus but people are happy with them. Who has the Czech revolvers?

I have a colt python and yes it's the Cadillac of revolvers. Can't say this enough I love it!! Yes they are very pricey. Probably overpriced. I was lucky and got mine for a steal.
If you can afford around $1000. Get the S&W 686. My buddy has one (4.2" barrel) and we've put a lot of rounds through it. It's a tack driver!!! Action is very nice and smooth. Close to my python. If we could Concealed carry this would be what I would carry. I plan on adding one to my safe.
Rugers are nice too. Couple upgrades mentioned above and they are real slick. Great bang for the $$.
The new Czech revolvers look nice. Never handled one personally. But I bet with a little work they'd be a nice piece too. I think I'd get the steel frame and not the alloy.
I've handled the charter arms .357 mag at my LGS. There's no way in H3LL I'd shoot .357 thru one of those. They feel like monkey metal!! I hear some people like em in the USA for carrying cuz they're so light. Personally just by judging on looks they seem like crap. .22 version would be ok.

If you can swing it get the 686. You won't be disappointed.

Ruger Blackhawk combo 38spl, 9MM and 357 all in one gun slick and a tack driver with 38 wadcutters

That gets my vote!
