Hello I'm new to reloading. I have a friend who has all the tools i was just curious how much do you think it will cost me to reload these calibers with an average load? I know there are alot of factors i'm just wanting an average or estimate. I trying to decide on my next lever action rifle and am interested in all calibers, unfortunatley i'm not made of money so I am looking at the prices per shot. Right now if i were to buy factory boxes it would look like the 30-30 would cost about .75cents per shot. the .357 , .44mag and .45mag are about 50-60 cents per shot and I was just wondering how much cheaper these would be with reloading !!!!.

Keep in mind untill i want to invest in the equipment I can use my friends free of charge I just need all the materials.

Thanks !!!!

right now, using lead bullets i cast, it runs me .11 cents for 1 round of .357 mag using 15 grains of h110/w296. 158 grain bullet.

Since you are casting such a wide net, figure on about half the cost of commercial ammo to reload most of those. Cast bullets will drop that significantly again if you are willing to deal with their quirks.

For 95% of your shooting, you can use cast lead bullets in each of those calibers. Bullets are the expensive part of a round, so a cast bullet at less than 10 cents each makes it a cheap deal.

Unique would be a good powder, since it makes good loads in all 3 calibers with cast bullets. All in cost will be in the order of 12 cents a shot.
