Rossi makes nice ones, Chiappa makes nicer ones...Marlin makes one, but the 92 reproductions just seem like the thing to do...

i have been looking for one my self. shooters choice in waterloo has them from time to time. but any ubirti dealer can get it for u.

If you get a Rossi 92, there's a kit-with-video that shows how to smooth the action. I did it for CAS and it made a big difference.

They are really nice, but the deal breaker for me on them is the tang safety..

Although the tang safety is the craps, the safety on the Rossi's is ten times worse! I can't remember if the Chiappa's have safeties or not?

If money is not object I would buy in this order:

Uberti 1873
Win 92
Chiappa 92
Marlin 1894
Rossi 92

That list is also about how the price goes from high to low.

And Epps is a good place to look as they stock most of the mentioned brands.

Uberti makes really nice guns for sure, not cheap but very nice.
What about Winchester 92s ?

I have not shot the new Winchester yet but I have had a chance to fondle one, they are very nice and look well built. Miles a head of the Rossi 92 rifles I have owned. The new Win 92 is on my short list of rifles to buy as funds permit.

I'm looking for a .357 or .44 mag in bolt action. The only one I know that makes them is Ruger and they are impossible to find.

I have a Chiappa Mod 92 case hardened trapper in 357 and a Winchester Mod 92 case hardened in 357, and a new Winchester 73 on order.
The Chiappa is a more exact Mod 92 replica and shoots awesome, but the Winchester, even though it has a tang safety, is a way nicer gun.
I have shot the Uberti and it was really nice, I would own one these for sure.
