So I am wondering which would be a better choice when using .357 Mag brass and not 38 Special brass for loads using the above bullet?

Since they are plated bullets need to keep the velocity down. Trying to stay in the 1000-1100 FPS range.

I hear Unique, Bullseye and even Titegroup. I have been using Bullseye. What is the difference between it and Unique?

The reason I am using the 357 brass is I am avoiding the carbon in the cylinder. Using the 38 Special brass I find I HATE having to scrub it out.

What are your thoughts gents?

The bullet works great in a 38 Sp! My Pet load is 4.5 grain Unique. I've loaded some for my 357 (5.6 Unique) and makes a decent plinker load.
I must say though, that I do prefer 158grs hardcast bullets for my 357. Blue Dot is my fav. powder for those.

Bullseye and Titegroup are fast and hot burning powders. I believe, that bullseye is the same as Win 231!? (could be wrong though.)
Both powder meter really well. (I load all my 9mm with TG). Both powders will work in 357 mag, but since they are ball powders (as opposed to flakes) they are hard to see in a 357 case. Unique on the other hand is a courser flakier powder which meters...well,not so great but you will at least be able to see it in a long 357 case. It is also slower burning than TG and will give your bullet more of a push and a nicer recoil rather than a sharp bang and a jolt. Alliant 2400 is also an excellent powder for 357 applications.

cheers

I use 4.0 grains of VV N320 to push the Berry's 158 gr at about 800 fps in the .38 Special. 6.2 grains of VV N320 in the .357 Magnum case pushes the same bullet about 1100 fps.

Max velocity for the plated Berry's is 1250 fps.
