357 Mag w/ Titegroup

When Hodgdons loading data mentions a certain type of bullet (not lead), is it good for any projectile of that weight? They recommend Hornady XTP while I plan on using another 158gr projectile for my 357 mag. loads. Should I start at a lower point? or is the weight the only concideration? I'm going to be using Titegroup which is a fast burning powder.

Same with 38 spl, 45 acp and 44 mag.

lead data is for lead bullets and plated jackets, jacketted data is for jacketted bullets, start at the starting load and work up as some bullet styles and manuafactures may show signs of pressure before others.
 
OAL is extremely critical in pistol loads - a tenth of an inch difference means a pressure difference of thousands of pounds. Otherwise, I use the data interchangeably copper-for-copper and lead-for-lead, with plated being somewhere in between the two
 
TiteGroup is god for accuracy, but don't try to get real high velocity with it. As you said, it is fast.

180 jacketed data is good for other 180 jacketed bullets, if you start with the START load and work up, to see what works best.
