.357 magnum 1911 Anyone????

Put another 75 rounds through mine yesterday for a total of 175. Still experiencing some FTF issues, etc. I think it's the springs in the mags. The springs were getting stuck at the bottom of the mags and I had to use the mag tool to get the rounds out. These do not seem to like hollow points. When the gun works it's awesome but if things don't improve after a couple more range trips I'll be giving Gary a shout.

Strip and clean the mag, use a little emeri cloth on micro burrs within the mag, those are the cause, i did mines prior my first outing and never had an issue with the pistol, springs were sticking before the stripping... JP.

I sprayed my mags , inside , with a small squirt of ballistol , slick as black ice. 200 rounds through mine, only issue is raw palms on my hands. lol

Slightly off topic... and not really.
Any chance you can order a few of these as well?

Those .45s look pretty nice as well.

Cleaned and de-burred 2 of my mags on the .357 and they worked great for the 50 rounds I had with me for testing. I'll do the same to my other mags and see what happens. Only negative was the slide did not lock back after the mag was empty. While I would prefer that it did, I can live with that much easier than FTF and jamming issues. :)

I had similar case too , if you make the reload ,try to push the projectile just a little deeper , this will help .

this is an interesting piece. I've never considered buying a 1911 as i already have a .45 and the Nighthawk Recon is stupid expensive; but this changes things. This is a cool idea. If you could get this in with enough mags to satisfy the community and spare parts in case things wear out, that would be great. I hate buying a gun that has no support options.

One question i do have: Will the .38 spl spring be included with the package? Or is that a separate option?

Lastly, i assume no, but does this take standard 1911 accessories such as grips?

The spring for the 38 Spl is included, for me shooting 38 in that pistol is like fueling the Porshe Carrera with regular unleaded... JP.

The Coonan is incredible, just bought a G20 from Gary...
I will now be able to come to my own conclusions on them in a match comparaison...

Cant wait... JP.

Coonan

Got one from Gary about 6 months ago. Great piece! Found a great kydex holster and mag holster. Met Dan at shot show a few years ago. This thing built really solid. Needs good ammo - no crap.

Mark18, where did you find the holster? I've been thinking about getting a holster from one of the suppliers that are linked on the Coonan site.
