You ordered the 4.2” S&W 686. A very good choice, ruger’s GP100 is also very good. I think I might have taken a serious look at Colt’s new King Cobra.

Meroh: PPC has a Service class that allows 4” & 4.2” revolvers.

Yes, I believe it is 5" or less. A 6" would not qualify. I was talking about a 6 round revolver not a 7 or 8 round.

Amazon.ca sometimes has Hogues too, for considerably less shipping but limited selection. On Amazon.ca you can often find a grip from KSD. I think these grips are Turkish (?) but they are patterned off of Nill Grips from Germany, which are some of the nicest (not to mention most expensive) around.

I prefer the flat main spring of the S&W K L and N frames over the coil springs of the Rugers.

Many do. They do feel different. Having used neither extensively, I had no predisposition towards one or the other.

There is a Rosewood Hogue Grip on the EE right now.

I have both the GP100 and S&W 686, and they are great guns, choose the better price or your personal preference.
Have a Dan Wesson 715 too, beautifull gun, but the trigger is not in the same category as the Ruger or the S&W.
