357 maximum

there are actually 2 we made ,one went to my uncle and disappeared last year after he passed away and the one I have .
most of the time was figuring how much weight to trim off the counter weight to get it to cycle reliably
mag follower had to be ramped to feed rimmed cases
mine has a 1907 barrel and it slugged at .354 so I just use the bullets for the 350 legend (.355) 175 gr
it was a bit of work to make the first one and mine was easier as all the hard stuff was done,
groups in at 2 inches at 75 yards but its not a target rifle
It will also cycle the HSM 357 mag bear loads reliably too with the 358 lead 180 gr ,group opens up to just around 2 1/2 +- ,again I think it is ok too

the 1910 in 44AMP is way easier do ,I could put up a pic but it looks the same

Thanks, food for thought for sure.

Interesting about the 44 amp. I have a bunch of ammo I'm unlikely to put through my pistol. I was going to pick up a converted Ruger carbine but good to know this is another option.

And nice Dan Wesson. That or a 445 was on my grail list but I missed out.

about 3 or so years ago I was in a BC gun shop when someone called up and enquired about selling one on commission, I held my breath waiting to hear the employee say bring it in, instead, meh... and hung up. In hindsight I should have just yelled 'take my money' at him while he was on the phone.

I hear you. Have a few regrets like that too... lol
