I am just starting out with the .357 SIG in a Glock G22, with a couple of aftermarket 5.4" SS .357 SIG conversion barrels.

Any reloading tips specific to the .357 SIG for the .357 SIG newbie?

I'm thinking of using the CONICAL .357" Diam MD Charleton cast lead bullets designed for .38 spl/.357 MAG, so I can use the same bullet in both the .357 SIG and for PPC through my 6" SS Ruger Security Six. The larger diam bullets supposedly help with retention in the short .357 SIG necks, and the conical shaped bullets give the maximum length of neck bearing surface [without any ogive] while still being short enough to keep under the .357 SIG Max OAL to fit in the mags.
Anyone tried this??

PS: Does anyone have a set of .357 SIG reloading dies they want to sell or trade?
thanks

Same answer as in the pistol forum:

Lube is your friend.

Try to avoid round nose bullets as much as possible... I mean, I've loaded quite a bit but it makes bullet seating a lot trickier. With some round nose bullet designs, you have very little margin of error to seat the bullet deep enough to fit the mag without it being so deep that the mouth of the case site loosely around the nose. The very short neck means very little usable surface to exert neck tension on the bullet.

Interesting concept... I would take great care in firing oversized bullets though.
