I currently have a Remington Model 700 LSS in .300 RUM. I have a line on a .264 Winchester Magnum barrel that I'm thinking of reboring and re chambering to .358-375 Ruger. My only concern is wheter or not this shorter round will feed okay through the RUM action. Any thoughts?

Why bother with reboring and rechambering an existing barrel? It will work out cheaper in the long run to order a new barrel and have it chambered.
The 35/375 Ruger sounds like it could be one great replacement for the 358 Norma.

How much work is it to open up the bolt face on a standard Model 700 bolt to fit a magnum rim? I'm thinking of maybe using a Model 700 CDL in .35 Whelen and rechambering it to .358-375 Ruger since the cases are the same length. That may be easier than reboring and rechambering a 7mm Rem Mag. What do you guys think?

It could be a replacement for the 358 Norma which was a replacement for the 35 Newton which is virtually identical to the 35/375 Ruger. So we have come full circle in just a little over 90 years! Regards, Bill.
