Out with my 358 hawkeye and a chrony yesterday, 225gr. Accubonds 46gr. Benchmark readings were- 2464,2451,2450 fps. Win LR 2.82 OAL Managed 1.5" group @ 100yd.
Nosler PT's 225gr. 46gr. Benchmark readings were- 2414, 2406, 2386. CCI BR 2.78 OAL.
The surprise of the day was the 250gr. Speer @ 2400 fps with H335 and Win LR mag cap. This load is my most accurate to date but a punishing and maybe 1/2 grain over Speers #14 book max.
I have heard MR-2000 is disappointing in the 358 from an Alaska forum. If true it is really is to bad I had high hopes of trying some after seeing some data with it and the 338 fed with a 225gr. @ something well over 2500 fps.
Tac I would love to try but can't find any around these parts and RL 17 would strike me as far to slow.
As for 200gr. homos I'm to cheap to bother. But have good luck with Hornady 200gr. SP and RL 7 getting 2560 -2570 fps with decent groups it's my deer option.
