I've posted a number of times concerning aspects of the 358 Norma Magnum and while thumbing through info on it I was wondering, anyone else out there with an interest in that calibre??
Now you got me thinking.......
I own a 308win and a 308 NM.
I also own a 358win, but not the 358 NM.........
Nawwwwww, I don't need that big shoulder thumper.
my being weak, I now have two.

I played with one years ago Johnn, it wasn't mine but I worked up a good load for it with 250 gn Speer HC, it was the best 35 cal bullet at the time. As for currently, I can't find a niche between my 340 Wby, my 9.3X300WM and my 375 H&Hs and 375 WBY that really needs filling. Considering I have a Whelen and 2 350 RMs, I just do not see a hole that needs stuffing............unless you're possibly looking to move the Husky, hence the reason for the thread. PM me if this is the case !!
, I weakened.

That pretty gal wouldn't get a chance to get near the EE.
I can imagine Johnn has a wish list for her.
When was she Nee'd?
Do it! .... Bevan built me a 358NM on a 700 action a few yrs ago. His 35cal bbls are all shooters.I keep thinking of yanking the stainless Bevan King barrel on my Ruger .35 Whelen, ream it out to .358 Norma Mag and re-screwing on a Ruger magnum action. Maybe one day.
I bought a 300 WM BRNO ZKK 602 that I think I am going to get bored out to 358NM and set it up for shooting long range, won't get that offf the ground for atleast a yearf due to the back log rebores are taking these days...
John it ached me when you beat me to the S&L 358, i was next in line and just new you would take it!
I am very happy with my BRNO ZKK 602 358NM though, i have kept it for close up work with no scope, it cloverleafs 220gr SP Hornady's with the 100 yard leaf all day long with my handloads.

The only problem I had with a previous 358NM was bullet and still is getting good quality bullets? There is a South African company that is trying to set up distubusion of there custom hunting/target bullets here in Canada, and they have what looks to be the ideal 35 cal bullets for both applications!
Would glad to hear others who have more experiance with the calibre than I.
cheers DaLE z!!!

from a reloading standpoint, I haven't done all that much in testing and experimenting. As a result, I don't really know what works and what doesn't. I have a number of bullet options in stock, 250gr Speer GS, 250gr Hornady SP Interlock, 250gr Barnes Spitzer S.P. and some 275gr Hornady Round Nose, that I got from Ted with the Husqvarna. Last but not least and quite likely what I'll go with or 'plan' to go with in this calibre are the 225gr Barnes TSX flat base. Another possible bullet source and one close by I'll have to contract is Matrix Bullets to see what he has available. In the meantime, I have more than enough to keep me busy.Do it! ....
