If I was ever to change my user name it would be to magnum v2.5. Have owned most off this case, but never a 358 nm or a 375 Taylor. Its a cool idea, but really the idea of pretty rifle appeals more than any difference I would see between a 338wm( my personal favorite caliber) and a 358nm. Perhaps 35 bore lost me after my 9 month experience of chasing ammo, dies, projectile, brass for 350 rem mag. That before I moved to buttfork nowhere BC.

I'm 'guessing'
the reference made is to the 358 NM. But, I'd go with including the '.366 Wagner'/9.3x62 in that category as well . Mentioned it previously, prior to getting my .366 Wagner, for brass I picked up a box of 100 new Lapua. Your mention of Norma brass brought to mind that at a later date I lucked into 8 boxes of once fired Norma brass .

I own a S&L and a BRNO in this calibre, once I had both rifles I choose the Shultz as my everyday rifle, as it carried and shot the best of the two. I have even made small game cartridge loads for it, they work fabulous with Hornandy 140gr flex tips ! The nice thing for the reloader is all the 38/357 mag bullets available to plink in the off season too.
I'm always on the lookout for the next 358 NM for the collection!!!

How about building one on a SAKO?
With a 25" barrel?
250s at 2900+ with long case life to match the barrel, and an extra large butt to spread out the recoil a bit.

I've noticed the extra large butt in other pictures but I thought it would be impolite to mention it...
Model L61R, the best SAKO action ever made. Bean counters have ruined a lot of rifles, you know.
Same thing happened with the 338 Winchester. It was originally loaded with the old 250 gr Silvertips, not the Ballistic Silvertip of today, and 300 gr Round nose Power Points. I still have a box of them here.

That makes perfect sense, yet you can step up one notch and get yourself a nice seven pound 9.3X62, and have the best of all worlds. An easy gun to carry, handle, and shoot, and 285gr bullets with dead-on holds out to 250 yards on any big game you hunt.

i have the ruger african in 9.3x62. have a bit of a bad shoulder and the unpadded ruger causes me some grief, i suppose padded it will probably be ok. i'd still like to get a .350 ruger all weather however, i notice zastava makes a synthetic stocked 9.3 which i think would be also great (and cheap). my ruger african is pretty nice but i think i prefer the utility of a synthetic rifle these days, especially in stainless. the one thing i like about the .358 cal is that the bullets i've seen seem to have more choice and lots of inexpensive bullets as well.
