358 Winchester - too much for whitetail deer?

We usually don't get them that big over here on the left side of the Rockies, but last year I shot this nice one with a drop tine,
way up the Bull River just outside of Cranbrook.

150 yard free hand shot...

Brought him down with a Hornady Interlock bullet as well...

If this can help, I've shot more than one Black Brear with a .358 Norma Magnum (full strenght 250 grainer pill) and I never ended up with a two piece bear. It just goes through but knocks them off pretty hard
