358 winchester

Yeah, it is a beautiful rifle, Ruger M77 MKII RSI, converted to an RLS... unfortunately there were only 25 made in 1993, so it is close to impossible to find.

I've got a tang saftey Ruger 77RLS .30-06 that is my favourite centerfire rifle ever. I have a hard time picturing anything working better for the hunting that I do. I can see how the same rifle in .358 would be a really attractive option.

couple years back i had a chance to score that limited run 2016 model from ruger, let it slip by and am not kicking myself.

I have had a pre-91 BLR in 358 for 18 years now and have taken a lot of game with it over that time. It is my main saddle rifle, back-up rifle for guiding and archery hunting, camp rifle and has done its fair share of following up on wounded game for other hunters.
She ain't pretty, but is handy, quick to shoulder and shoot when needed in a pinch. It will put 3 into 1" at 100 yards consistently, even with its terrible trigger. But I know how its creeps and exactly where it breaks.
It will handle anything within 300 yards, and does not have bad recoil, even in a light handy rifle. Very effective on game, and doesn't shoot up the tasty meat!
I will eventually have a lh bolt action rifle built in this cartridge, with a 22" barrel with open sights and QD rings/bases.

I have a 1987 made, but new to me BLR in 222 I just very recently sighted in its 1-8 scope. I hope it will follow in the path of my 788 also in 222 with its M8 six power Leupold. A perfect matched pair since 1988.
My hunting nieghbor will use my old standby for our winter coyote hunts late in 2021.
I am lucky someone worked on this trigger and mounted a hammer extension. Looking forward to a positive Browning experience.

I have owned two BLR and one Ruger Hawkeye, all in 358. Like the village idiot, I sold them all. Wish I had them back now. Maybe someday i will come across another one and snap it up, or as Guntech said grab a good 308 and a barrel and have at it.

I don't have one... nor have I. But I am totally on board with the concept of heavy bullet medium bores...'cept I like mine in a stalking rifle platform.
But..the concept is 100% with me.

I’ve got a Savage 99R in 358 and call me a wimp but I’m glad the R is a heavy stock model, I couldn’t picture emptying a 99f featherlight with that round, you’d have a sore shoulder.
