358win vs 444marlin

200gr Barnes TSX @2750 fps, .40" grps @100, 358 Win in a LW BLR .... know your trajectory, short to medium to long range. Moose, Elk, Deer, Bears what have you. 250gr Speer @2400fps for dangerous critters when needed. My most favourite rifle.

Hmm! my 358 Win in my BLR with 200 gr-ers is at 2600 + ish - WHAT load of powder - primer - OAL do you use in your BLR to get 2750 fps ? Please reply ! Thks RJ

the 2 rifles are the same price, $700, thanks to everyone for there 2 cents BUT!!! I was in a local gun shop today and bought a ruger American for 400 new

These are 35 whelen velocities...what rifle is this and how long is the barrel?
Edit: silly me...saw it is a BLR...it should be 20" which is even more impressive...

$700.00 is a little steep but either of those two rifles is light years ahead of a ruger american

Ive Got 2 99's a 250-3000 I paid $350.00 and a 308 I paid $400 for, its too bad the 250-3000 is becoming an orphan cartridge

I had every intention of buy one of them, I was leaning towards the marlin, I shoot lefthand and have own a 99 before, did not like how close spent casing came to my face when ejecting, as for the ruger American left hand 30-06, if felt really good when I brought up to my shoulder, never had to look for the crosshairs in the scope, they were right there, only going to shoot it a few times a year, it's all I will need, very light rifle

Can only speak for myself, but I hate to see a guy disregard two traditional wood stocked hunting rifles for one of today's budget guns...... Especially with a handle like 6.5x55, But if you are happy with your purchase then I am happy for you.....

Curious, do you reload?.......
