36-38 or 360CF

Tried to find some information about that cartridge, but to no avail.
municion.org has nothing on it or I could not find.
What is the cartridge spec?

No 36-38 that i am aware of, very few old cart.(american) are .36 as this was a Euro designation. There is/was a .360 Rook c.f. and others such as .360 Express...all British and all obsolete, note also that there is nothing to be gained with these as the older U.S. rounds cover much of the same territory. ie: 32/20,38/55, etc.

Looking at buying an antique Webley Mark I pattern in that calibre, so the main question is what modern manufacture cases can be used to make ammo, or maybe it will chamber 38 short colt?

"...Webley Mark I..." They're usually chambered in .455 Webley. The Mk IV was chambered in .38 S&W(aka .38/200). The .38 S&W can have a .360" bore. There is no .36-38 or .360 CF though.

My bad, it's No.5 and it's marked .360 on the frame.

Mk V's were .455's too. Redesigned for cordite and adopted in 1913. The 360 is likely a serial number or possibly a regimental number. How big is the bore and the cylinders?

Is the modern equivalent of that essentially 38 long Colt? Will it chamber?

Very similar dimensions to the 38 long colt. The 38colt has a larger rim.

Well If your talking about the Webley No5 thats listed as 360 Caliber on Gunbroker right now you better be carefull with importing that one.

That gun has had the rear of the cylinder shaved so it can shoot 38 S&Ws or 38 long colts so its a prohib as its been altered to shot a Caliber on the NO list.

If you look close at it you will see the BIG cylinder to frame Gap.

Yes, I was looking at exactly that gun not with a purpose to buy, but to prove to myself that it's a 38 LC gun, however I was not aware that it was altered and did not really care.

Ive looked at them Before, orignal unaltered ones but there prices are so high and the case Rim thining involved all to shoot a 38cf wasnt worth the money and effort, to me at least.
That one on GB looks ridden hard and put away wet!
