.36cal 1851 Colt Navy

I bought a Uberti reproduction of a Colt 1851 Navy in 36cal round ball (.375) but I can't find the round balls anywhere. If anyone knows a shop that has some please let me know. I ordered the Slix-Shot nipples because I have a bunch of CCI #11 caps. The original nipples require #10 which I also can't find anywhere but the Slix-Shots can use CCI #11. Also I understand the Slix-Shot nipples greatly reduce cap jam. Can't wait to finally take it shooting!

I had a hard time as well finding .375 lead balls. Got my LGS to check with their wholesalers and got some on their next order. Hate to wait though…

You should be able to squeeze your #11 caps to get you going. If you’re ordering Slix Shots from the Track, consider getting some Wonder Wads in .36. They are much more expensive than homemade wads but gives you the idea about making them yourself.

A Lee mold is around $30. $5 each at the thrift store for a steel pot and a hot plate or camp stove.

Pure soft lead can be a little trickier to find these days but even if you pay top dollar from Western Metal or similar you are way ahead.

I picked up an 1851 myself. Hopefully able to find the caps and balls I need through work. They are on order although that doesn't always mean we will see them.
