Looking at the Weaver and Sightron 36X scopes , going to put it on my Annie 54 match 22lr.

Question is will you be able to focus on targets as close as 25 yds or will it be all blurry ?

Or maybe I should stick with a variable 6-24 or 8-32 type.

The price difference has me looking at the fixed scope.

Would like to be able to see bullet holes out to 200yds.

Thanks

I offer these 36X fixed mag target scopes so will give you my opinion on them.

Short range focus is no problem for any of these.

The Weaver and SII have been standards in the SR BR game for a very long time but their tech is aged. Compared to the new SII Big Sky 36X (SIIB), the field of view is narrower, eye relief is shorter and the eye box is not as easy to get behind ie eye position way more critical.

Optical clarity and colour is better in the SIIB. Turrents are 10 min per rev NOT 7.5mins in the other two (whoever thought that up should be shot). If you're dialing up alot to get to various distances using a 7.5 min/rev turrent will drive you looney.

I am presently using the SIIB on my Savage 93 MkII practise rifle - you can read about it in the rimfire forum under the Basic Black post.

I am very happy with this scope is well worth the extra dollars vs the other two.

The older two are great scopes but the SIIB is just that much better.
