A nice Ruger MK2 stainless with a Shillen barrel in 375 Ruger.

Finally managed to figure out my computer, ill see if i can get these photos to load.

My main moose rifle, is a pre 64 model 70 chambered in .375 h&h. My grandmother bought it new in 1954 and was her main hunting rifle. I inherited it after my grandad passed in '98. The stock that was on it, was quite short for me, so i opted to follow grandads foot steps, and build a stock for it with my own hands. A year later, and more hours then i can remember, i had this stock built and finished.

Another ill add, is my primary walking bear rifle. This was my grandads rifle, a Mannlicher, chambered in 9.5x57, aka .375 rimless nitro express.

Decker that story about your grandmother was a great read. Incredible accomplishments !

That you can enjoy her 375 is so nice. Wonderful job on the new stock for it as well!

Thanks for sharing the story

Thank you Craig!

I never got the chance to meet my grandma, but I sure feel honoured to be able to call her my grandma, and to pack her rifle. That stock was my first go at building a stock, but you could say it’s in the blood a little, as my long past grandfather was a gunsmith/stock maker. I spent a lot of time after schools sitting at his work bench as a kid. I will be adding a few photos of his builds to the “show your wood” thread soon, now that I have my computer figured out.

mine is a Sako safari aiv model in a 375.from what I gather they were only made in 1980.

I'm in as the oddball. .376 Steyr - a Steyr Dragoon Scout to be specific. Fitted out with the Jeff Cooper package - Leupold FX-II scope, ching sling, and hard case. 225 grain in the magazine for elk or moose, and 270 grain pills in the spare magazine because griz sometimes show up at unexpected times.

Oddly enough, I also scored a rare-as-hen's-teeth set of RCBS full length .376 Steryr dies today...so I anticipate that there will be some stout 300 grain handloads in my future. Eric Ching cooked up a good recipe that I'll aim to emulate.

Thought about getting a 376 Steyr as well, but my CZ550 FS, or ZG47 both in 9.3x62 (yep one of the few in the world that have one of these) kinda win. Got a BRNO ZKK 602 in 375H&H as well but she be a bit heavy to carry around.

anyone have a Weatherby Vangard 2 in .375 H&H? how are they?

Mine is about the best buy in 375 H&H I have ever owned, and I have owned a few. :)

Accurate, excellent trigger, very good factory sights, and tough as nails. Even though it is about a pound lighter than most 375s, the Weatherby stock design has the stock recoiling away from your face, so quite manageable.
