.375 group is officially open now.

Just a regular ol' Ruger Alaskan 20" barrel, open sights, Leupold VXIII 2.5-8x33 in Ruger rings. Not a single rifle I own fits me better, or I would have most likely switched out the Hogue stock. BUT since it is adequate for my accuracy needs, I kept it. Plus I hunt in a small boat lots, and seem to be wet quite a bit, so that grippy rubberized stock actually works for me.
This black bear was shot between the neck and front right shoulder from above. ( I was sitting in my F350 box -Lifted 6" plus 20 tires, so my vantage point was kinda high.......not tree stand high, but while I was standing up, it was definitely a downwards shot. He came out of the trees at about 60 yards, and faced me directly. As soon as I lifted the gun up and aimed, he just started to turn when the bullet went off and hit him slightly "off-axis". The bullet came out the left side of the gut and he dropped dead right there. Not even a kick out of him. The load was a 250gr TTSX at full-nutz velocity. Crappy picture as it was pitch black by the time I found the camera in my bags, and had to point the headlights of the truck at it on high beams to see the bear.

Only if we go Spey fishing for chromer's first!, I've got lots of ammo

Awesome caliber, have taken small and large game with it,, use nothing else since getting it. Favorite bullet is the 260gr Nosler partition.

Salty, that rifle must almost be collectible no ? That chambering is very uncommon.
I saw one come in the gun shop where I worked years ago and while I was trying to decide whether I should go for it and risk certain death another chap scooped it up.
And of course wouldn't you know, I have never found another...

Not the most common Kevan that's for sure iirc Marlin only made them for two years, right around 1980. I had a Marlin fetish at one time and had a bit of a herd this is one of my last ones :)

No one using the 375 Ultra Mag? I have often wondered why this one is not more popular?

More powerful than both the 375 H&H and the Ruger.

Less expensive to obtain and shoot than the 378 Weatherby.

Reports of outstanding accuracy and performance on game.

Factory ammo in every sporting goods, hardware store, and gas station.

It will probably make a smaller hole than a .30cal on the exit side. They just feel good to have in the hands. I think it is how Thor feels.

Thanks...that sealed the deal! first the "Hammer of God", now this.

Why do some of the rifles shown have 2 HH's after the .375, is that something new? A variant of the 375 Ruger? Never heard of it before.

Okay...........here's my contribution.

375 H&H Rem 700 SS CDL with Zeiss 1.5-6.....PT&G bottom metal

Sako L61R in 375 Wby.........I chambered it out from a 375 H&H cause I always wanted to try a 375 Wby

Here's my "Emperor of the 375s"......my 378 Wby Euromark with 3.5-10 Leupold Vari X III

This of course is my Sako AIII Safari in 375 H&H which I had restocked and wearing a Leupold Vari X III 2.5-8.

I also have a 375 Ruger African which I have no photos of.........I mean it's only a Ruger......it looks like every other Ruger African.

I have had many 375's, but would love to get another 375 ultra mag... mine was very accurate and well balanced. If I could only find enough brass..... i would have one barreled up for spring
