So we loaded up a GMX bullet the other day for my 375 H&H that there is no load data for so it was a bit of a guessing game. Anyhow, ended up with a 250 grain bullet going 2810fps with no pressure sign at all and putting three shots touching at 100 yards was no problem. It seems a bit hot compared to other 375 loads....what kind of velocities are other getting out of 375s.

I use RL15 in my Ruger .357H&H RSM. The Nosler 260 PTN yields 2700 fps with 71 gr., accurate and pressure seems moderate. Sierra 250's need 72 grains for the same speed.

Where did you get the GMX? Sounds like a good bullet for the big boys like the 378.

The .375 GMX is brand new for 2013 and just finding their way into Canada. I managed to come up with 100 but I'm not sure what shops have them in yet. Korth might be able to tell you who has them.

I read somewhere that the GMX bullets were designed to have the same pressure curve of other Hornady bullets, hence the sometimes odd cannelure and ogive.

Anyone know the BC for this GMX bullet I looked it up at Hornady's web site = they do not have the BC listed?

I'm curious as a comparison what velocities are you guys shooting 250gr TTSX in your 375 H&H's?

RL15 and H4350 both produce velocities that raise my eyebrows in the .375 H&H.

By Barnes data, not a GMX but the closest thing being a mono, even 270gr solids can be pushed to 35fps shy of 3,000fps and stay within pressure limits. The 235gr can be pushed to 3,062fps, so I think you're right on track and I'd call that a perfect load with the accuracy you're getting. Your pressure is likely not even truly maxed yet, but I wouldn't foray much further myself in uncharted territory.

That's a hell of a BC, .430, and I think I'll have to mix some loads with these up too when I can find them for reachy game.

Hornady has published some load data for the 375 Ruger that seems quite conservative but nothing for the H&H yet. Ya, I'm thrilled with the velocity and accuracy of this load and considering we leave for Africa in two weeks I don't think I'll be messing with anything...lol I suspect they'll have something out for the H&H shortly. Zeroed at 100 yards, I'm only 3.6 inches low at 200 yards and 13.1 inches low at 300. That works for me!

That would be great for elk too.
