Actually it doesn't really kick like a mule, just a big derranged pony. Course, these are the light loads. Chronied today @ 2500 fps with 350s. Kid stuff really. The 400s @ 2400 fps is another level.Just joking about Boer Seun, I think he'll be buying one real soon.

Here is my solution to the scope issue. CZ 550 American Safari in 375 HH. The scope is a Swarovski HABICHT RIFLE SCOPES PROFESSIONAL HUNTER 1.5-6x42.
I never had a Swarovski before and ordered it sight unseen from Elwood Epps. I like the optics and the field of view is great. But the way the cross hairs expand when you zoom really bugs me. Maybe I will get use to it.

Why doesn't Leupold just make the 2.5x longer to fit a long action. Seems like a no-brainer to me given the amount of people who want such a scope.Why not? said:If you can get a Leupold 3X, you will have the premier scope for a 375.
Alas, they are not easy to find, and the reason is that anyone who gets one, keeps it!

with the trajectory similer to that of the 30-06 the same power scope that you would use on a 30-06 would serve the 375 H&H well also and allow you to utilize its full potential.
Most 375H&H's come with iron sights also so a set of rings that allow you to remove the scope quickly and easily so you can use iron sights if you would prefer if you anticipate an up close and personal situation

The down side of this arrangement is that even expensive systems which claim repeatable POI after removing the scope sometimes don't deliver, and none of them deliver all the time. That means that after you follow the wounded griz into the willows, you will have to re-zero the rifle before you take a poke at the 350 yard caribou. The metallic sights are available if the scope fails or is damaged.
I agree the optics which are suitable for a .30-06 are also suitable for a .375. A fixed low power scope, or a variable set at the low power setting, the maximum of which should be about 2X, is the answer in either case.
I had an EAW quick detatch system on my .375, it retuned to zero great. Ifound it a little high for my stock so switched to a pachmayer low swing mount, the steel version. It also returns to zero every time and gives the option of swinging the scope to the side. I find 3x great for hunting and shooting silohuettas, but lacking for testing loads. If you are going to use a variable, get a good one. The .375 is right at the bottom end of calibres that eat variables.
