So $1200 for a barrel?
That seems excessive, I've had barrels spun up for me for under $600 including a McGowan blank and all the machining. Why do you want the 375R so bad you're willing to pay that much? Why not just go 338 Federal?
I just finished reading up on the 375 and it does sound impressive and should make a great hunting round, just seems like an awfully expensive conversion just to try something new.
I'm curious to know how they are getting such high velocities considering it should have a very similar case capacity to the 308 but is launching a heavier projectile.
I am looking forward to reading what you think of it once it's done, if it becomes more popular and prices come down to normal barrel costs I would be interested in giving it a try.
The only part of the review I read that I didn't like was that they compared it to a 300BLK saying it delivers 60% more energy at 100 yards, that seems like a really poor cartridge to compare it to unless it's not really much of an improvement over other full size cartridges. Not much different than comparing the 308win to a 223rem, apples to oranges except they both look the same once the neck is punched out that far.
