So despite the bad wording on the thread I do know how to reload. My 375 Ruger dies are new and I tried to set them up just now. Sizing die was as usual and I sized 4 empties. I tried to seat a 300gr Hornady dgs and it starts to go in the brass then sticks. I brought the press handle back up and the bullet pulled right out. I have never had a bullet stick in the die like that. Tapped the die on the bench and the bullet came right out. Not sure if dgs’s are an issue or something wrong with the seating cup. Anyone else see this issue? I tried it a few times with the same result could not get it to go to the cannelure.

Only other thing I thought was the neck tension but the bullet should still not stick in the die. Thinking it’s a seating cup shape issue?

It sure sounds like nose of bullet is "wedging" into the bullet seating stem's nose. Are you seeing any marks on the bullet - a ring, or whatever, as if that seating stem was deforming the bullet's front end to be able to hold it? I have never used solid bullets, so from pictures on Internet, looks like that bullet has flat end with a wide rounded shoulder??

It does have a small slight ring on the bullet. Im going to put lee lube on the tip and see if it works. Won’t be able to hang on as tight then. Might have to pull the cup out and see if it’s rough.

Have you got the die screwed in too far, and its trying to crimp the case before the bullet is seated?

I had a problem similar to that when I was seating round nose bullets in my 9.3. I ended up using the roundnose seatign stem out of my 416 Rigby set (apparently that caliber comes with two stems).

Might try that.

Ya it’s not crimping. I also looked at my 375 h&h dies to see if the seater could be swapped. Nope Redding and rcbs not matching up. I recall my 416 dies having two seating cups also but have long since moved away from those.

It was for sure holding just back from the nose. I lubed up the first bullet near the nose and loaded three easy more. Will go shoot these four and see how it works.
