375 ruger velocity

I remmeber trying to get 375 H&H brass a few years ago, and there wasn't much around, and in the end only found Remington.
375 Ruger Brass isn't widely available in Canada yet, but it's coming in...A well known sports store recently had several bags of it- I just missed out. The fellow I spoke to said "it's becoming really popular, we should have more within 6 weeks."
I had no trouble getting brass and factory ammo is available in Canada. Reports from US intraweb forums show that brass and ammo is available- No issues getting it.
I remember when the 300WSM came out, and there were cries of "If you buy one, stock up on brass, it won't be around for long!!"
I just can't get over the feeble attempts to crown this round...
It maybe good but the king not by a long shot...
Sorry, you are too late. The decision has been made, and the 375 Ruger is the NEW KING. May as well accept it....
Well Gatehouse, I don't mean to #### on your parade, but as I said, I travelled down in Montana and stocked up on supplies. I already have tons of .357H&H brass, so much so that I can share some with a friend. As a matter of curiousity, I asked about .375 Ruger brass and the answer was " duhhhh, .375 what?". As a matter of fact, I was in Toke and Haines Alaska just this past September....same answer. Hmmm...what's this Ruger Alaskan all about??? and the locals never heard of it. Most people in Alaska are 30-06 afficionados by my reckoning. Just my two bits. The .375 Ruger may be the NEW KING in your mind, but travells and discussions with the locals rather than the wannabees do tell a different story. And just to clear matters, why is your .375 Ruger up for sale on the EE for such a ridiculours price, are you just ####ing around? or are your really tryint to get rid of it...sorry if I don't catch the hidden internet humour there, but just clear things up a bit won't you?

I had a chance to shoot the Ruger to day Boomer brought it out ,ammo to what a guy.Nice little rifle, feels like it would be nice to carry.Can you drop a round in the chamber and close the bolt, or must it feed from the mag. I never do that with my 602 but some guys do.

There doesn't seem to be any shortage of 375 H&H brass these days, but a few years ago, it was difficult to find for a while. This is prior to you purchasing a 375 H&H , IIRC.

I haven't been to the Haines/Skagway area for about 5 years, but as I recall, the local gun store was a nice place but not exactly "cutting edge"
Anyways, the point I was making before is that brass is available, and will only get MORE available, despite what the doomsayers want to think.

Ahhhh....so "cutting edge" must be the place then. The "Shooting Edge" in calgary has none....oh, wait, neither has WSS, Russell's in Calgary, nor does SIR in Winnipeg, PD in Edmonton has none, Bashaw Sports...nada. Please do tell...who has some?

Rather than the location, perhaps try looking for a different demographic.
Russels HAD some until recently, actually. Boomer got the last of it. I've had people offer to sell it to me, so like I said- it's available- and soon enough it will become more available. Just like the WSM brass, which was hard to get at first.
And if you *must* have something to shoot, you can buy factory ammo and save the brass. It's available through Russels and WSS, last I checked.
Funny, when I first started talking about a 375 Ruger Alaskan, there were people proclaiming that it woudl take FOREVER or NEVER for one to show up in Canada, and I ended up with one of the first ones.
Of course, the brass issue was brought up, bit *somehow* I managed to get ammo and brass...Now it's been 7 months that i have had the rifle, I killed a bear with it, my buddy has an African and he killed 2 deer with it, Boomer just posted about shooting one, but still people think brass and ammo are impossible to attain?

Aww, but you see Gatehouse, my point is that I never have to go through all that you've just explained. It's just easier to shoot the good old .375 H&H which has been so profoundly written about and is such a classic and nostalgic round. Nothing to prove, it's done it all since 1912 and will continue to do so because of such accepted chambering from most rifle makers, factory and customs. And all of that for a measly few feet per second of muzzle velocity, slightly flatter trajectory and a whole lot more recoil. The venerable .357 H&H is field proven, your KING of .375's on the otherhand still needs proving, that is if brass can be found. I do widh you luck on that though.

Gatehouse.....that make a grand total of four animals shot with it. What did you guys do?....mail each other's spent brass??? There aint' nuthin' funny 'bout that. And you still havent' said why your selling it?
