375 Ruger - will it last?

Your posts amuse me and the fact that you think you know better amuses me even more.... remember you did call me a liar once and that was amusing also.
Stop and think..... have you ever considered that some may be doing the threads solely for your benefit just to see if it gets under your skin, and it does..... doesn't it ??? :)
 
I just boght a 375 H&H and don't regret it one bit, but yes I do think the 375 Ruger will stick around. The fact that it can fit in any standard length action means that it is more economical to produce than a magnum length action, and therefore can be bought at a lower price. It is also cheaper and easier to find an action for a custom build if you go with the Ruger cartridge.

The Ruger is more versatlie, it can be chambered in a heavyish rifle if thats what you want, or in a very light gun that is meant to be carried for weeks on end and fired only rarely.

I have no need for a 375 Ruger, since I love my 375 H&H model 70. But as a mountain rifle for grizzly country (hypothetical, as I live in Nova Scotia, which has neither mountains nor grizzlies) I think a Husqvarna 1640, rebarreled to 375 Ruger, with a McMillan Edge stock, NECG express sights and Talley QD rings and bases would be purely awesome!

Well, I will have to compromise if the indifference is about looks. I will admit its not the prettiest. I think the manlicher style full length stock'd rifles are the easiest on the eye's. This thumbhole, well I have seen better looking.

But its whats comfortable for me. I am a bit stubborn about how I want to do things sometimes, but if you can prove me wrong ill generally admit it. In the case of whats a better stocl/grip, that still boils down to opinion, I dont know if we could ever reach an agreement there, so I dont think I should get into that anymore than I have :stirthepot2:

Ardent, maybe Ill see you at the range one day and you can give it a try for yourself.
