And before anyone starts flaming my a$$ for 2 of them being Remingtons and all of them being push feeds, I would love to see photos of someone's 375 Ruger that has accounted for anywhere near the size and number of animals the bottom one has...........

Nothing wrong with those rifles, but I would reach for the Rugers posted above before any of them.

Yes Gatehouse I believe you would, but then you've never hunted Africa and none of them is needed for NA game, are they? I have taken the largest animal available to hunt in NA with a 9.3X62 and the second largest (bison) with a bow and the third largest with a bow as well...........

Sorry no pics of the other two..............

If I was going to hunt Africa or bison or polar bear I would still pick the Ruger.

Of course you would....................and I'm sure it would work using the right bullets...........just don't wait too long or you will have to start looking at the shows for that obsolete brass or make some from 300 WM, and hope they don't get lost on the way over..........

More BS. We aren't going to run out of brass. And the Ruger is becoming popular in Africa, too. From my discussions with African hunters, They are quite enamoured of the rifles and cartridges. Lots more obscure cartridges than the New King are used in Africa, anyway. I know that doesn't fit into the. " you might lose your ammo " argument , but it's the truth.

Really, what African hunters might that be, none of the PHs I've hunted with use it or have barely heard of it. And I have hunted with most of the top outfits in southern Africa.............

Most of them are just guys who live in South Africa and hunt. A few PH's but mostly just guys that live there, and like using the Ruger.

LOL this still going on like 2 years later in a new thread . Depends on what you like and can handle recoil wise I have owned 2 .375s
The .375H&H the .375 REM ultra mag. and a friend Has a 375 Ruger .Now If we just go on load data and power the .375 ultra Blows the other 2 away but you pay for power with recoil and most people can't handle the .375ultra and its just not fun to sit at the bench and shoot of a box of shells and practice . I shot my friends .375Ruger and while it did not have the Kick of the Ultra it had a little more recoil or seemed to than the .375H&H My current favorite is my .375H&H Its a Zastava in a REM Laminated aluminum bedded stock As rem contracted to Zastava to make the 798. I just desided one day that pounding myself with the .375 ultra was not fun and I also owned a .500Jefferies at one time OUCH is all I got to say about recoil on that beast I sold them both. The .375H&H or the.375 Ruger Are fine cartridges and both will perform well .If its all about case capacity and velocity then the .375 Ultra or the .378Weatherby would be the top contenders .

DEZ..........it's not that at all, it's the unjustified declaration of Royalty of a cartridge still "wet behind the ears" and as such unproven, let alone elevated to the level of Royalty over the reigning KING of more than 100 years......375 H&H !!!

H&H = old, deposed king
Ruger= New King

That's it, that's all. It's just how it is. No monarchy lasts forever. The H&H had a good run, though.....
