LOL,I'm not upset, I just get a chuckle out of the Shockey/Shoemaker professionals. Most true professionals I know are pretty humble.
Kevan, if my posts upset you, I suggest you not read them, but it's not your place to decide what I may or may not post.
We are discussing firearms and cartridges on this thread, there is no need to get so emotional.
C'mon Clarke, you're got to admit that it's hard to miss your posts, especially about the 375 Ruger!
Y'all may have noticed I have been conspicuous by my absence............Gate, give it a break, really............You'll be lucky to be able to find brass for it in 10 years, you'll be calling me to remind you how to make brass from 300 WM. No other ammo manufacturer has picked it up, so it is a dead horse, or soon will be. Accept the fact that it is dying and stop trying to breathe life into it..........it has expired. I suspect I probably know considerably more people and PHs in Africa than you do and when I ask them about the 375 Ruger they go "WHAT....never heard of it"...........![]()

I can see why folks in Africa would not have a lot of knowledge about the .375 Ruger seein' as how the H&H version has been so thoroughly entrenched there since the early 1900's. I have no doubt that the .375 Ruger will have a home in North America for quite some time due to our trends in the field and in the board room. Both cartridges are very capable for hunting and target work & I have no issue with either one. They are both great for the job. (The .375 H&H just looks cooler to many folks, let alone the romance behind it.)![]()
Ruger and Hornady have been very pro active in Africa the last couple of years, and 375 Ruger guns and ammo are in most gun stores in the hunting countries of Africa. Local hunters have been snapping them up for the same reasons NA hunters have been- 375 H&H++ power in an updated case, coupled with well thought out and affordable rifles.
I dont think the Ruger deserves to be called a King. The true king, designed 7 years prior to the H&H is the 404 Jeffery. Better suited cartridge to be called a King. No belt! Wow! Speeds near a rigby in modern rifles when hand loaded! Wow! And most new "wizz bang" cartridges are based off a 404 Jeffery! Wow! What a following! Its going to be a long while before the Ruger is a "King" of any sort![]()

Grown ups are talking, sweetie.
How popular is the 375 RUM these days?
I have never seen anyone carrying them, or a ruger for that matter.
375 doesnt seem as popular in Alberta, although I have seen a few guys with the H&H.
