375 Ruger

I'm well aware of the differences in these receivers. None of this has anything to do with magazine geometry.

As Ardent explained, the RSM has a bigger magazine -they are not the same rifles as the 77 standard action.

To further explain- If magazine capacity was dependent on cartridge in this case, the 375 Ruger rifles should be able to accept 4 375 HH cases, right? But they don't, they only hold 3.

There is no magic that goes on here, where subbing a 375 HH cartridge automatically means extra capacity.

Gotcha. Chuck is talking about how in a select few applications the slant of the floorplate could allow an extra round in the mag for the H&H and not the Ruger. There can be enough room at the belt where the mag is deeper but not at the shoulder for the fatter Ruger. I can't think of a factory example though I'm sure they could exist, in the custom sphere 4 rounds down without a drop box for H&H is pretty common. We're getting a bit academic here with geometry entering the debate, and clearly some good argument chum is being thrown in the water to see what surfaces. Which is what a .375 H&H vs .375 Ruger debate is all about anyhow eh...

who cares about 4 or 3 ... if really someone needs 4 shots there is a big chance he wont have the time to shoot them ....

again more than the caliber is what you need or want and on cgn pretty sure some have both or had ....

The Model 70 will. All my Model 70 375's have held 4 down. And I agree that it is pretty academic.

Actually in the fireforming it shrinks back so no trimming required...........and a factory 300 WM headspaces perfectly !!!! Literally you can just throw a factory 300 WM in the chamber and pull the trigger and out comes a perfectly formed 375 Ruger. Another 4 or 5 loads and the belt all but disappears.

Well thats just Crazy but i guess it does Work ! Still has the Wrong headstamp though NOT a big deal to some ruger 375 people BUT prob mostly lowly 375 ruger owners who cannot afford to buy REAL brass for there rifles ! LMFFAO ! ;) :d :p RJ

Now now Jim! Lowly 375 ruger owners? I cant handle improperly head stamped brass. I like my 375 ruger, but would also like one of the Sako 85's on the EE in 375 H&H..... Every man should have an H&H in his collection!!!!

Or 4..........

As to magazine capacity, just for the record Ardent, the 4 - 3 isn't theoretical in a factory rifle, my Sako Safari will hold 4 H&Hs under but will only accept 3 Ruger cases. My Safari 338 is the same..........I know because when I was looking at options I tried it out. I would have to do some work on the follower and mag well to get it to accept 4 Ruger cases.

it was made for 2 reasons:

hornady sometimes do not bring the quality it should for brass and of course in the case they do not produce it anymore: the caliber is saved ....
