375 Scovill

Basically, it is a 9.3X62 necked up nine thousandths of an inch.

Why bother with all the trouble and expense when the '62 is such a great cartridge? And, especially understanding that the 9.3X62 is essentially a 375 with five in the magazine? :D

I agree unless you have a hankering for a custom rifle; you can buy a 9.3X62 off the rack. The up side is that there is a better selection of .375 bullets at this juncture than there is for the 9.3's but that may change as demand grows.

A BRNO 602 .375 H&H holds 6 in the magazine :shotgun:

Just reread the initial post. Dislike.......magnums??? O.K. I don't get it. You lost me:confused:. I guess there's the 375 Ruger and the 416 Rigby but thats a pretty small selection for serious guns.

Build the Scovill on a '95 the way it was supposed to be. That's be a real thing of beauty for the Island!

Exactly..If you want a .375 lever gun,go for the 1895. That and the Winchester 71 are the only lever guns I've ever really liked.

If you want a bolt action, the .375 Scovill will work, of course, but why bother?

You can buy a factory .375 Ruger of the shelf, and it's no called "magnum" so it "ain't" and if you don't like the recoil you can easily load it down.
