What 375 Wildcats haver you used?

i'm thinking about getting one built...a 375-338 or maybe a 375 WSM or even a 375 Whelen AI...

Or I amy just go 9.3x62 or even have a Ruger 77MKII rechambered to 375 H&H or 375 Weatherby.:D

What 375 Wildcarts interest you?:)

I've got a .375/350 rem mag barrel downstairs. But I really want to put together a .375 Wby. I have the parts thanks to Rembo and Supercub, I just need the time now. Anyone want to talk to my boss about that?

Well I've been looking at taking a .303Brit and necking it up to either 35cal or .375cal. I don't know how much sholder will be left if I go with the 375 sort of a straight wall case so I'm leanign towards the .35 still

then convert a No4 enfield, 19" barrel and make it a full wood carbine or tanker.

The .375 Dakota is interesting. It is a .404 Jeffery shortened and necked down. It works through a standard action and gives .375 H&H performance. It is very similar to a shortened RUM or a lengthened WSM. Performance is given as 270gr @ 2800fps and 300gr @ 2600fps

pretty pricey brass on that Dakota I bet

for me it would be a 375-338, throated to shoot the 260 gr. Accubonds @ 3.4" OAL

aint nothing much you couldnt do with a 260 AB @ 2700 fps and a case full of Varget

I had the chance to play around with the 375 Taylor (375/338) and it was a pretty neat round. It was a buddies and it really smacked the bears hard. It was pretty easy to reload and the recoil didn't seem to bad. He was shooting the 260 Accubonds out of it and it was very accurate!

About thirty years ago, I had Bevan King barrel up a 375 Whelen for me. It worked just fine on anything I used it on.

Had a 375 Chatfield taylor on a Ruger 77 that I got from Rockchucker and it worked, too.

My old BRNO ZKK 602 in 375 Weatherby killed like lightning. River Rat will remember the bull moose, that was running flat out at about 80 yds. It literally sommersaulted when it was hit with a 300 gr Partition.

375s work, no matter what persuasion they are. :D

A guy gave me his old 303 savage 1899 lever rifle. the bore was burnt right out and we all know how hard it is to get ammo for it anyway.
I have ended up with using a 303 British case, necked up to .375 cal and shortened to the same length as a 38-55 case so it will still cycle properly in the rotary mag. Now I have a cheap supply of brass, and a classic gun can be usefull in the timber again. I haven't come across anyone else using this style of wildcat, need to think up a classic name for it.
Shouldn't be too long before it is done, hope to haul it around this fall.

I picked up my 602 in 375 H&H for $300 a couple decades back. Looks and shoots great, it's not cool like a wildcat but oh well ammo's fairly cheap.

Probably slightly different dimensions than your cartridge, but dont forget there is the 375/303 Epps!:)

WoodChopper, there may be something about it at the Elwood Epps website if it is still up. I haven't been there since the Poor Old Fellah passed away last year. If I get a chance I will look for it tonight if Gatehouse doesn't get to it first.

.375 on a BMG case would be cool.

It does exist, it's called 375-50BMG (quite an obvious name, heh) and there's also the 375-50BMG Ackley Improved, also known as the 375 Mach V (Mach 5)

Reports are that it will launch a 270grs Barnes TSX at 5300fps, and that the accuracy is really bad as the bullet is on the verge of disintegrating. Regular lead cored bullets are out of the game for this reason.

It must be a real barrel burner also
