38-55 bullets, loads

I am looking for some 250gr fpsp bullets for the 38-55. I have some 220s but like to load some 250s. Does any one have a good load for the 220s.

I can't remember any good 220 grain loads. But go to www.thebulletbarn.com and buy Lois's 245 grain .38-55 bullet and never look back. 26 grains of XMR 2015 and a velocity of 1658 fps was an awesome accurate load in a commemorative i had.


..............killed a moose with this load at 125 yards and he piled up like a bag of hammers.

With the Bullet Barns 245 grain .38-55 bullet, I prefer 10 grains of Unique with an overall length of 2.505" which will give me a MV of 1,290 fps. Great for Cowboy Action shooting.

Ken Waters standard 38-55 load for 255s was 35gns of 3031. You can't beat it, it's got good velocity about 1800fps in long barrels , I use the same load with 220s with conplete satisfaction
