I have a 1900 vintage Winchester 1894 in 38-55 I am setting up to reload for so I dont have to pay $2 a round. The manuals say not to load over 1700fps. Everybody has an opinion on how far to go but who can actually answer that question accurately? Dont want to take a chance on hurting my sweetie but I would like an actual engineering answer rather than someone elses opinion. Sure it works but for how long?? Who can I talk to?
FWIW I will be loading smokeless and cast. Also have a chrony.
