38/55 winchester

i have a model 1894 winchester in 38/55 cal saddle ring carbine
it fires well has no rust the rifling is excellent
the finish is brown.
it was made in 1906 and i was looking
in a gun value book (us pricing) and i figure it would
be considered to be 80 to 85% out of a hundred.
the book said the price would be $1600.00 range
and to add 40% if it was a saddle ring .
i wish to sell this rifle .
any comments would be appriciated

If the finish is "brown" then it can't be considered 85% finish, more like 30%.
& you cannot go by American blue book values unless you personally intend to take the gun to the States & sell it to a collector.

If it is in good shape with the screws not buggered & good rifling a 38-55 SRC is quite desireable. In that shape with a brown finish should sell in the $600-700 range. I have seen them for a little less in that shape.
In order to be worth the kind of $$ you refer to it would have to have a "bright blue" barrel & receiver .
