.38 cases in a .357 magnum rifle. Solution found!

I was planning to do similar with my new Pedersoli 1885 in 38-55 - I have the "short" brass and I understand that the gun has the long chamber.
I'll just load to whatever OAL kisses the lands.

I found I had the opposite problem in my 1873 Winchester .357. My cast SWC pistol loads are too long when seated to the crimp groove. I have to use my CamPro loads. Brass isn't the issue since I have thousands of both specials and magnums.

I'm surprised that your 92 won't feed 38 specials, though. Of course I have not bothered to try them in my Canuck 92 in .357, so what would I know?

I have a 45-70 that I have to seat bullets shorter. I found a taper crimp die works well. Accuracy actually improved. Most stuff has been done in the past and some of us haven’t heard about it. Most problems can be fixed with finding the right information.
