I had issues with the drg 158 grain rnfp being to undersized (356) so i bought some 130 grain (358) cast drg bullets. I am using win231, i am looking for a nice plinking round at a velocity that is suitable for non gascheck bullets. Anyone have any data?

we need more info is it a full wadcutter?
semi wadcutter
round nose ?

it makes a difference in some a very small diference

you should be able to use any data for a similar shaped bullet close to that rate range
as you are only looking for a target load
so you could use any data (Start data) from a 120g to a 150g and work up to a accurate load in your gun.

have you checked out

ht tp://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp put in your info and out pops

125 GR. CAST LRNFP Winchester powder 231 .358" length1.445" 3.8g 876fps 10,300CUP 4.8g 1071fps 16,900 CUP

135 GR. CAST LRNFP Winchester powder 231 .358" length1.418" 3.7g 872fps 12.500 CUP 4.7g 1024fps 17,000 CUP

from the above data if you are using a rnfp or a swc in the 125to 135g weight I would start at 3.8 g

note work up to what your gun likes
and read your reloading manual

You might have to push them hard to stop leading
as i think the drg are a hard cast
it also depends on forcing cone to barrel fit

where has the leading shown up ?
sized to .358 is a start

your start loads might be sooty as not enough pressure to seal the case to cylinder walls
Start by making ony a few and working up

Drg"s are hard cast. I was loading the 158 grain rnfp with 4 grain win 231 and was having alot of lead buildup on right at the start of the rifling ( throat?) i couldent figureout if it was due to the bullet being 356 or if it had to do with preasure/ velocity. I have to breakdown and buy a crony soon thats what i do know.

do you have bullseye? that works nicely with my HBWC loads. a little smokey though.

i bought 500 of the 140gr TC DRG's and they work nicely for my 357. well i only shot 6 rounds, but saw no leading. they worked nicely in my glock too, but very smokey.
