After just finishing, and scrounging for IMR4756 for the last few years, I finally had to break down and start developing a load for my Open Gun for IPSC.
Since the SK provincials, I have been doing some load development for my open gun.
After starting with 10 different powders ranging from SR7625, AA#7, HS6, HS7, Accucomp, Silhouette, WW540, VV-3N37, VV-N350 & VV-3N38. I worked it down to the last 3 finalists due to availability, price and how clean the powder is.

My reasoning for my component choices;
PROJECTILE
As an open shooter, I decided on the Campro 121 RNHB as I wanted the lightest projectile avaliable to be used. I chose the 121 RNHB over the regular 121 RN due to the longer bearing surface, allowing more bearing surface giving better accuracy. I also chose Campro due to the full plating on the overall projectile versus the exposed base on jacketed bullets which cause more debris to come out of the ported/compensated barrel. These projectiles hold together in excess of 1400 fps.
POWDER
I was fed a powder that was efficient, and was readily available. My finalist for powders ended up to be the following. 3n37, 3n38 and n320.
The powder burn rates were similar, but going from fastest to slowest I got the following;
-3n37,n350, 3n38
The volume needed for a 170pf was from least to most;
-n350, 8.4 grains
-3n37, 8.5 grains
-3n38, 10.0 grains
The sound level, quietest to loudest;
-n350
-3n27
-3n38
Perceived recoil, least to most;
-n350
-3n38
-3n37
Muzzle flip, dot tracking from least to most;
-n350 (dot stayed in optic view 90%
-3n38 dot stayed in view 50% of shots
-3n37 dot moved out of view every shot
Speeds, and all other data is in published chart.
Remember, my results may be different that what would be in your firearm, as you can see on the posted picture of how many ports and poppels my custom gun has.

My choice for a new powder overall is due to preformance and cost and availability.
My decision?!? Hands down Vihtavouri N350.
I will be loading some for this weekends Level 3 at Camrose to try out, see you there!
