380 in to 9MM

I had a whack of 380 FMJ round nose 95gr that was never gonna be used,....
so would they work for reloading 9mm ?

The answerer is Yes they do.
I measured the 380 and the 9m and were both 355 diameter.
The OAL that worked in my 1911 was 1.050 "plenty of room to crimp"

I had to bump up the charge to 4.6g of IMR 700 to get it to cycle and eject reliably .
The Case was getting pretty full." good thing its a short projectile"

auto comp and blue dot powder, and Aliant E-3 does Not work. You have a Single-Shot fire arm.

so thats it. bang bang .hope this helps some one.


as well..... they would work good for 38special Revolver. you could down load them and have an easy shooting plinker.

Running .355" diameter projectiles thru a .357" Bbl would work...but will shoot patterns not groups.

no....not running 335 I am running 355 which will work and give good acuracy.

Whether a .355" bullet will shoot well from a .357" barrel has enough factors that saying something absolute like "it will shoot patterns not groups" is pretty stupid. I have successfully done so myself more than once, as have others I know personally.

I had no doubt that little 90grn .380 bullets would work in x19. When I tried it I was getting some very high velocities, accuracy wasn't great but it was good enough.

This is very dangerous.

You should sell the 95 grain projectiles to me and use the money to buy proper projectiles.

I don't use projectiles. All I ever buy is bullets. Much cheaper.

used 3g of bullseye powder.
Its like shooting a 22lr. "heavy revolver"
accuracy was not bad at 25 yards, Used a Taurus model 608 357mag.

didnt pursue it any farther. you would need more powder for sure LOL

Just wanted to see how it would work. I'm sure if you tinkered with the load you could get something half decent out of it.

But you were supposed to get "patterns not groups" according to one of the latest gems of wisdom from our American gun expert. I had little doubt the bullets would work though I haven't used anything that light myself.

Keep shooting your copper washed JUNK in any diameter & bore you prefer.

the norc 1911 cycles the 380/9mm good, no jams.
But man that little bullet is FLYING fast !
I was shooting at 100 yards ,..it got there fast and it hit with authority ! I was surprised at the speed and power.
It almost felt like it was "snappier" than regular 9mm.

I was also surprised at the accuracy at that distance.
Gonna try them out of my High Point carbine next. If they move that fast out of a pistol....they should be screaming fast out of a rifle.
