Here's my little .380...

Shelby,

It is an Imbel MD1 .380 manufactured in Brazil. I bought it some 18 years ago. It's a basic copy of the 1911 and operates the exact same way. It's an awesome little plinker, and my 9 year-old son shoots with it every time we go to the range. It's restricted as the barrel is 107mm in lenght.

It's a very cool little pistol....

I have to go with the 1922 Browning cause their cool, also see if you can find a 1910 model 12(X) prohib on the cheap, buy a barrel and get it verified as a restricted only. I know that you can do that and the barrels are avaliable too.:)

Actually I was asking if there was a specific purpose. Once you know why someone wants something, then you can better make a recommendation. I like the 380 auto cartridge. Not all guns that chamber it are plesant to shoot though.

My Colt Mustang actually was quite unpleasant to shoot. The recoil is significant because the gun does not weigh much. The bottom edge of the trigger would pinch the skin of your trigger finger. There is a little depression/slot below the trigger. When the gun recoils your finger is pushed against the trigger guard into the depression, when the trigger comes forward the bottom of the trigger pinches the you where the depression ends.

Also the gun is not very accurate. There are some very generous clearances between the muzzle of the barrel and the slide. My little 1908 25 acp Vest Pocket Pistol shot groups half the size of the Mustang. But if I needed a small carry gun I would go for the Mustang hands down. If I wanted a pleasant shooting gun in 380 auto I would pick a larger gun like the Berreta 1934 or Cheetah.

You can not get Glock 25's because they are made for law enforcement only, I think? This topic regarding the Glock 25's have been cover before. I would love to have a Glock 25 too, but it ain't happening.

As bigdawg stated the G25 is widely available in South America. I think if it had a longer barrel (a la Questar) it should be importable....

You might be thinking they are unavailable because they basically are unavailable to our southern neighbours. BATF has some strange point system for import and the G25 does not qualify by their standards. If you are like me, you think if the US can't have them, we don't have a hope in hell. Safe assumption most of the time for sure.:D
