July update and TL;DR summary of this thread:
Both the conversion inserts and standalone mags are now available. Both have "true" last round hold open. I.e. they engage the slide lock lever like the centerfire magazines, rather than block the slide like the Sigpower and BDM mods.
I can confirm that both the standalone magazines and inserts (when inserted in a P226 mag) work for the P229 .22 conversion. See post 51 for video.
Inserts work for both the 9mm and .40/357 current 10 round factory SIG P226 mags (the black painted ones, not the older parkerized ones).
Inserts for the Mec-Gar mags will not be possible at this time.

I was tired of not having slide lock on the last shot with my P226 .22 conversion kit so I printed up a prototype magazine insert with a slide lock function. Testing it at the range tomorrow.
If it works as well as it does cycling manually, and if there's enough interest, I can make these available for sale. What do you guys think?
