This is a project I have been working on for a little while. I wanted to try out my hand at 3D CAD and bought an inexpensive 3D printer to do the prototyping. Once I had made a few prototypes, I printed out of ABS on an industrial printer for better results. (mine is not nearly as good - the cheek riser was done on mine)
I am looking for new ideas for other platforms, (I would love if someone in Ottawa would let me borrow a AR-7)
There are still a few tweaks I have to make, but this version is the 90% solution for me.
Once I am satisfied with the design, and have fully tested the modifications, I will see about getting industry to manufacture a small production run if you guys are interested.
This project has taken me many hours to get this far, but I think it is coming together nicely.
Here is the news model:

This is the previous version I had done, (needed a few minor changes).

You can see the attachment bolt, which I will be Painting black eventually. I had to grind one side flat, and trim the threads to fit. This stock was a two piece design because of the small build area of the printer I was using.

This is the one piece stock:

The Cheek piece is removable, and I can print different heights if I change optics or remove it to use the irons.
You can also see the built in sling loops, in case you like slinging your rifle.

Here is the front sling attachment point, and bottom rail. The Rail cant have anything on it when folded, but that is why they make QD right?

This one again is version "3" which has removable ammo storage like a mini side saddle.

I put in a cut out so it folds just as flat as I can without my modifications, the break lever still impacts at the same time as the grip.

The Grip feels very nice in my hands, and is very comfortable. I will tweak it a little bit in the geometry later to see if I can make it fit like a glove.
(Disregard the white detergent on the for-end, it is just to wash the support material away after the printing process)

And here is how it started:

What do you guys think? I would like to do the AR-7 next, but I don't own one yet... or if someone wanted to donate an old rifle with a broken stock.... I would like a new project.
