I'm going to echo what's been said, if you want your hobby to be 3D printing and not 3D printers, Bambu Labs is one of the best. Learn about the different types of filaments and their uses first, if you plan to stick with basic PLA (which i wouldn't personally), something like the A1 fits the bill. However, as soon as you move to PETG and fancier stuff, i'd suggest an enclosed printer.
I recommend buying your filament from 3dprintingcanada. Good price, and good stuff. I use almost only their PETG carbon fiber for everything. I don't bother with PLA.
I have a creality ender 3 v3 KE.
You need a steel nozzle to print carbon fiber as it is abrasive.
I've done it 3 times, just trace the outline on paper and scan it or take a far-away photo with a ruler beside it. I get within .01" on the first try.I would like to reproduce an antique Browning auto-5 buttplate with a 3D printer. Have any of you use a scanner to create the drawing file for a similar purpose?
