3K what 22lr rifle to buy!?

Have been watching and reviewing A LOT of videos.

It seems like an annie is what will be the winner. Just what one?!
The accuracy between the 1761 and 1710 seem indifferent and solved by ammo.

I think its going to be a deciding factor of is the Anschutz 1761 XRS (one with a MTD chassis, bolt knob and pic rail already on it) worth the extra $900 bones vrs the 1761 HB classic

Both have the 2 stage trigger. Both will be shooters. Just preference at this point. The adjustable cheek piece is almost a requirement for me. So XRS definitely has the lead, and I mean ill have to buy a rail anyways.... The only "nice to have" is the bolt knob.

I will likely make a decision in 3/4 weeks. Ill post when I buy and not keeo yall in the dark lol

Normal or heavy?
On release the b14R was preforming very average for a slightly higher then average price. Is that still what most people are seeing?

The idea of unlimited stocks/triggers is nice ie being on the 700 platform.
I've been quite happy with mine, and I've had it for a couple of years now. The standard steel barrel, not the stainless heavy barrels I've seen recently. I did end up changing the barrel over to an IBI straight pipe now. I was popping balloons at 600 with the factory barrel. I know 3 other friends who have bought them and love em.

Liked mine enough that I picked up a carbon fiber B14R in 17hmr too.

Bergara B14r barreled action [steel] ($1050),
MDT ACC Premier Gen 2 ($1249),
Triggertech special ($295)

You're at $2594 without taxes or shipping from chosen retailers.
I saw some places have Bergara on sale atm for 15% off, not us, but that helps towards it.
Like I had said before, this is basically what I did. For walking around I don't think I'd go with an ACC Gen 2. It could be a bit heavy for that once it's kitted out and balanced right. But for a PRS or target style rig, it's exactly what I did.

I went out today for gophers. Thus was with my B14R, not the heavy barrel, just the standard. Shooting American Eagle 38grHP ammo. I was shooting off of a tripod in some short and thick buck brush type stuff, maybe 10" tall. My longest shot was 78 yards, which was kind of disappointing as I know it will do a lot better than that. But those were the opportunities that I got today.

It was also windy, a steady 14, gusting to 21, according to my Kestrel, but that rifle hasn't let me down yet.

My gopher B14R only has 359 rounds down it so far. My match B14R has 1086 so far. Different types of ammo, but those AE HP's sure have some zip in comparison. Although not as accurate, way better for gophers.

You all gonna crap on me for this but my savage mk11 is reliable and dependable to about 50 yards but I only shoot elly quiets through it. Cci is garbage. Gf loves it for the quiet no ear plugs required
I still have my Savage, for now. It will be going soon. But there is nothing wrong with the MKII. I started shooting competitions with one, I have shot a couple hundred gophers with one. Is there better and more upgradeable? Yeah, sure there is. But these things just work.

All of the Afore mentioned rifles can do almost any thing
a shooter requires .

I have shot them all CZ , Annies , Savage , Coopers et al .. I ''Like'' to shoot
high end , Xlnt fit & Finished rifles the Best..

Yep .,..skwerl

Lol, I recall a few other threads in which you were comparing options for another gun. I'm gonna re-visit this one in 2028 when I suspect you may actually be closing in on a decision...:)

Im looking to have another rifle meet the 1/2" challenge.

I will be feeding the rifle good ammo, even when its shooting gophers.

I have a few lined up, but typical of me I cant seem to figure out what one to go down.

THE SHORT LIST
Anschutz 1761 APR XRS .22LR
ANSCHUTZ 1903 R TACTICAL TRAINER
Anschutz 1761 HB classic 2 stage trigger (good price point and can get a stock later)
Tikka T1x Ace Target Rifle, Black: 22 LR, 20"
CZ - 457 MDT-XRS Chassis 22' IBI 1:16 barrel
OR build my own CZ or TIKKA slowly. I know some can be shooters from the shelf, so buy a tikka or CZ see how it does then start swapping parts?

I know the annie 1761 will be a shooter, just what specific brand of ammo. It will be fast and easy. Plus the 2 stage triggers are AMAZING.
I have owned a 1903 target, I liked it... Eventually sold it after getting on the 1/2" challenge though.. Dont think I want another.
The tikka t1x ace target BY FAR has the best stock, but its a base t1x... so I mean eventually if it doesn't shoot I can change barrel and maybe trigger hiking the price.
CZ should be a shooter with an IBI barrel, might end up changing out trigger... ( I REALLY LIKE 2 STAGE TRIGGERS LOL , Esp those annies )

OR buy a CZ/tikka base and build it up? Thoughts?
The Tikka and CZ are not in the same league as the Annies. For the money, I'd say the 1903 and a case of SK Red. My 1903 loooves SK Red. A decent scope (I'd say 32 to 45 power), and you'll be very happy.

That's my suggestion anyway.
