Same ol Joe is still alive...still kicking azz, poppin blood pressure pills and taking names on nsh. The only time he argues these days is when he types online
He's been a great help to me on the open forum, and has been kind enough to answer a few PMs over the years. I know and like Remington shotguns going back over 38 years, and he's still probably forgotten more about them than I'll ever know.
Hope all is well with him, and every knowledgeable gun owner willing to help others!
As for the 11-87...if you can't say anything nice...
I helped my (late) friend pattern his 11-87 Magnum with 3" turkey loads, after shot #3, heard a "clank" upon firing and saw metal chunks fall out from under the receiver. Not a condemnation of the 11-87, but that ended any interest I may have had in them. Really fond of the brand regardless, some of the best hunting/shooting memories I have=had a Remington shotgun in my hands. If I hadn't sold every gun I own, there would still be an old 11-48, and old Wingmaster, and a newer production 870 Youth in 20ga still in the safe.
