4.25" S&W revolvers

Hey All,

I was in at Al Simmons in Hamilton today. The folks I heard the rumor from heard it at A.S. first. The good folks at A.S. told me today that the S&W rep said they will be making 4.25" 626's in .357 mag, and they should be available in the fall. No other models were are planned at this time. Take it for what it's worth, this came from the Canadian S&W rep, will it ever happen, only time will tell.

Brian I did write S&W got a reply saying they were not doing any so we are on the rumor mill. would of bought a smith as i like their product but have no paitence and bought a ruger that was avaiable.

Hey JD3,

I'm leaning that way myself. I'm not looking for another 357 anyway. I'll likely go with the 4.2" Redhawk in 45 LC, unless something pops up from Smith pretty soon.

Personally I don't like patronizing a company that views Canadian shooters with such an incredible level of arrogance. If the post earlier was accurate - that the S&W rep had the audacity to claim that we were just lucky to get guns from them at all - it demonstrates the egregious level of contempt they hold us in. I couldn't possibly fathom spending one dime on a S&W product after that kind of disdain.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Smiths. They are the most beautiful revolvers IMO, having owned several and carried a few. But after being enlightened to the notion that Canadians are about as important to S&W as the swarf off a barrel lathe (and even that's probably worth more to the company as scrap metal!), a Ruger GP100 will be my next wheelgun.

Hey AK,

If you read zywina's second post about the sales rep, it was the Remington rep, not he S&W rep that said we were lucky they sold to us at all. You can go ahead and be PO'd at S&W for any number of customer related issues, but don't crucify them for something somebody else said.
