4 bore blunderbuss build

Here's a 4 bore miquelet blunderbuss I just finished up. The barrel was from Ed Rayl and the lock was built from Rifle Shoppe parts. I will put more pictures of the build in the comments because I can only attach 11 here.

What is your powder load for that beauty?

Thanks. I like to show how much work is involved. I did 180 gr of Fg with nine .445 round balls and newspaper wadding for the test shot. Definitely recoils with authority.

Wow! 9 round balls ! That thing must have stout recoil. Are you going to bring it to the silhouette match at Heffley this year so we can see it? I'll bring you a can of Goex Fg

I didn't have any buckshot at the time, but twenty or thirty 00 buckshot with 200 grains of powder would be a blast. Unfortunately I built this one for a customer, so I only get to test fire it before it goes to him. I am going to try and convince him to bring it to the rendezvous at Heffley Creek.

Yeah, it definitely had some stout recoil. Not as painful as my lightweight Marlin 1895 with full power 500gr loads though.
