Stopped in to Perkins Variety in Pembroke on Saturday and spotted five M305 rifles still in their boxes sooooo now there are four left to choose from if anyone is interested!!! (took Hungry's advice, now I have two) Mike

I drove by that place all the time. I never stopped because I figured that a gun store that shared a building with a convenience store and a gas bar would never have anything good....

Stupid me.

Tyler: You may be right. They don't have anything good. No sir, it's all fabulous. Hey, WTF ? In 5 years all of you are gonna be kicking yerselves and saying, "WTF didn't I buy a few of them for that price?"

Lazerus2000 and I were around in the mid 80's when we could buy Israeli Surplus'ed M14's for $ 450 each. That's when USGI bolts could be found in Toronto gun shows for $ 35 each.

Peace be to journey !

Lance (the owner) is normaly there between 6:00am & 1:00pm Mon. through Sat. and is a pleasure to deal with in my experience! Check him out.... I doubt that you will be dissappointed with his prices or his service. Mike

Because I'm a starving student. One is all I can afford for now. :(

Maybe one day I'll buy one 'NIB' for $800 on the EE a year down the road, from someone who bought 6 of them so they can gouge their fellow enthusiasts the second the supply dried up.

You people know who you are.

if you poke around this country a little.... you'll find there are quite a few out there for sale in shops, for under 500.00. Personally, a used norc, regardless of claimed amount of rounds down the pipe is only worth 400.00 with a 5/20 and a 5/5 round mag, cleaning kit and sling, and no other alterations.
Now.... same rifle as above.... if i could inspect for tightness, alignment of all parts and test fire for grouping/general accuracy, and it passed the tests.... I'd pay up to 550.00. It will be interesting to see what happens to the market once marstars final shipments have arrived and sold out........

don't be one of those guys who's sittin there kickin himself sayin..... I shoulda bought one when they were under 500.00

why are they sold now on EE for more than retail even though you can still buy brand new from stores for chaper ?
Absolute stock M14s with no accessories usually go for about what you would expect to pay for a new one + tax and shipping. Basically, like most other firearms on the EE, they doesn't lose value, only gain in value very slowly.

Having been a starving undergrad over 20 years ago, I can understand why you only bought ONE. No sweat. At least you are in the game. Send me your address and I will fire off a copy of the 2004 Abbotsford M14 clinic, since I am sensitive to your student budget. Been there, done that. AND I have a son in 2nd year at Queer's Univ, Kinston. I am very aware of what $$ and expenses are about.

There is a reason why I'm such an expert in tweaking M14's. Back when my kids were born (1988 and 1990), I was competing in NRA High Power shooting and I could only afford ONE rifle (you read that right). Money was tight and boomsticks were few and far between. So I learned to buy an M14, tweak it to the point where buddies wanted that rifle from me and then I could go and buy (then tweak) another M14. This would happen a few times a season. The joke on the firing line was that I turned up at each match with an entirely new (to me) rifle. :D

So yeah, I was once like yourself (even after I graduated from the Faculty of Ed, U of A) without much money for hobbies.

Peace be to Journey !

Hmmm...That sounds like what I said. Unfortunately once I had decided to buy 5 more than the 1 I did buy, Marstar came out with the notice that they weren't taking anymore orders. (I had only claimed to have bought 6 as a joke)
Oh...and I wasn't gonna ask $800.....I was gonna shoot for a cool grand each in about 5 years

The way things are going 1K in 5 years would buy you a 5 round magazine or a
box of .308s :)

These guns would be $700 guns if it wasn't for Marstar flooding the market.
